The Rosswald is a good value skiing area. Guests can shop on site at the grocery shop and rent their ski equipment at one of the sports shops. There are several restaurantsalong the ski slope.

With its 25 kilometres of pistes in the difficulty levels blue, red and black, the Rosswald is manageable. Winter sports enthusiasts can take the Saflisch double lift to Fleschboden and venture downhill here or choose the next stirrup lift to Kläna. The Stafellift, which transports winter sports enthusiasts to 2,600 metres above sea level, provides variety. Afterwards, a wide black piste awaits you for the descent. Anyone who skis on the Rosswald will appreciate the T-bar lifts. Because every metre on the snow counts. You can relax body and soul on the numerous sun terracesin the restaurants and chalets.

Ski and Snowboard

The Rosswald is a varied ski area with great panoramic views. Four ski lifts at 2,600 metres, 25 kilometres of best prepared pistes make every ski day an experience. The snow experience begins right in front of the holiday home.

Sledging

Take the cable car from the Ried-Brig valley station up to Rosswald. At the top you have to choose one of the two starting points: a toboggan run starts directly at the mountain railway and leads towards the Resti. For the start of the second toboggan run, a 10-minute ascent is first necessary. At the edge of the ski slope you climb up with your sledge to the restaurant car park. There the fast-paced toboggan ride towards Riedalpji begins. The sledding trails cross each other after a few bends and lead down to the Ried-Brig valley station. Suitable sledges can be rented at Sportshop Schirli and Sport Mode Central. You can find out whether the sledging piste is open on the piste map.

Rosswald Ski School

The Swiss Ski and Snowboard School Rosswald offers courses in group and private lessons. In the high season, the ski school organises a torchlight descent for all guests once a week. An evening snowshoe hike with a fondue is also on the programme. The guest race for ski school participants takes place on Thursdays. On Friday, the children look forward to warming up with Snowli.

Snowshoeing, this gentle walking through deep snowy winter worlds, has become a trend. The peaceful silence in the woods invigorates body and soul. So it’s a good thing that the Rosswald has numerous secluded paths.

Shops and rental

Save yourself the hassle of transporting your equipment! In the Sport Mode Central and Sport Shop Schirli on the Rosswald, you can rent sports equipment quickly and conveniently on site.
In the Magusiigrocery shop you will find everything for daily use, fresh bread and fine Valais specialities.

Paragliding

Take off once and fly silently through the beautiful Valais mountains. In winter (December-April) the paraglidersfly daily on request on the Rosswald. The startwith the skis or snowboard is easy to master even for beginners after a few short instructions. This is followed by a flight over mountains and the slopes of the ski area. The calm winter air makes the flighta pleasure, as hardly any turbulence is to be expected.

Golden eagle quiz – circular route with knowledge questions

The “king of the skies”, as the golden eagle is also called, is a fascinating bird of prey. You can learn a lot about the majestic bird on the circular trail with quiz questions.

You will be asked various questions at a total of seven posts. Try to answer them and write the letter that matches the answer in the solution box on the back of the flyer. The flyer is available free of charge at the mountain station of the Rosswald cable cars. At the end of your hike you can read off the solution word. On the flyer you will find the route and the locations where the boards are set up.
